    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wydad won the 2022 African Champions League and take on Manchester City, Juventus and Al-Ain next month, while Monterrey, the current club of Ronaldo's old team-mate Sergio Ramos, face Inter, River Plate and Urawa Red Diamonds. However, they are not the only teams interested in snaring one of the game's all-time greats for the tournament.

Another potential landing spot for Ronaldo could be Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr's Saudi Arabian rivals. They qualified for the Club World Cup as 2021 AFC Champions League winners and could offer the ex-Manchester United forward the chance to face former side Madrid.
