Chelsea signed Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig on a six-year contract in June 2023 for £53 million ($66 million). However, he made 27 Premier League appearances last season, with just nine starts, and managed only three goals. But Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been using the forward more frequently in recent weeks, explaining that he “deserves” to get minutes. Nkunku has appeared in five of Chelsea’s six games at the Club World Cup, starting three of them. However, he is still expected to leave this summer.
