Barcelona move Alexander Isak to top of striker targets shortlist as Joan Laporta weighs up January approach for Man Utd outcast Marcus Rashford

Per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have placed Newcastle star Alexander Isak at the top of their shortlist as they are looking for a long-term replacement for ageing forward Robert Lewandowski. The Catalan giants reportedly admire the Sweden international and one thing that could lure the striker is a chance to play in the Champions League next season.

The Catalan giants have prepared a shortlist of forwards, which includes players like Rafael Leao, Luis Diaz and Jhon Duran. However, it is unlikely that any of these players will be sold by their respective clubs in the middle of the season. As an alternative, Barcelona could consider bringing in United outcast Rashford for whom they are prepared to go 'all in'.

The MD report also claims that before making any new signings, the Catalan club will have to make substantial sales. If they manage to offload players like Ronald Araujo and Ansu Fati, only then can the club can think of spending big in the January window.

Hansi Flick's side are aiming to win their first trophy of the season on Sunday as they take on rivals Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana final in Saudi Arabia.
