After a few days at London Colney, Arteta's men kicked off their summer tour with a 1-0 triumph over AC Milan in a tightly-contested friendly held at the National Stadium in Singapore. However, the game still went to a penalty shootout, where the Italian side emerged victorious.

Arsenal pipped Newcastle to a 3-2 win, with 15-year-old Max Dowman stealing the show, before losing 1-0 to bitter north London rivals Tottenham in Hong Kong.

Back at home, the club played more warm-up matches, losing 3-2 to Villarreal before finishing their pre-season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Athletic Club to lift the Emirates Cup ahead of their Premier League opener.

Declan Rice and Fabio Vieira did not join the training camp in Spain, while David Raya joined up late. However, the trio had their reasons.

Rice was following an individual training plan, while Raya was allowed an extended summer to enjoy his newlywed life. As for Vieira, he was engaged at the Club World Cup on loan with FC Porto. Given that the Portuguese played his final game of the season on June 24, he was eligible for a mandatory three-week summer break until July 15.

New arrivals Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi have all traveled with the Arsenal squad to Singapore. Noni Madueke's debut will be delayed after the winger lifted the Club World Cup title with Chelsea, while Gabriel Jesus is recovering from an ACL injury. Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes may be present but could miss playing time due to injury recovery.

Joined from Valencia, center-back Cristhian Mosquera made his club debut in the Villarreal loss. The new striker, Viktor Gyokeres, made his Gunners debut in the north London derby in Hong Kong.
