Perak's target Terens Puhiri joins Port FC in Thai League

The speedster whose goal for Borneo FC showcased his tremendous pace and became an internet sensation, has signed for Thailand's Port FC on a one-year loan deal.

Terens who was linked with Perak with Borneo's club president Nabil Husein Said Amin admitting that contact had been made between both parties, was unequivocal that the move to Thailand represented a far better opportunity for young Terens.

"Honestly, it was a hard decision to make to let Terens leave Borneo but it was one that I have to made. This is because it is the best decision for Teren's future. We have to throw away our ego and support Terens to be a much better player. Wish him all the success and back to Borneo soon," said Nabil on his Twitter account.

Terens has been a mainstay in the Borneo team throughout the 2017 in Indonesia's League 1. He made 31 appearances, scoring six goal and made nine assists. The one goal against Mitra Kukar was the one that attracted worldwide attention for the pace he showed.

The 21-year-old now becomes the latest ASEAN player to move to the Thai League after the league made an extra import slot available for players from the Southeast Asia region.

As for Perak, the search continues for three more import players following the renewal of only two players in Gilmar Filho and Leandro dos Santos.
