ISL 2017: Spanish defender Tiri confirms Jamshedpur move

Newly launched Indian Super League club Jamshedpur FC has added former ATK defender José Luis Espinosa Arroyo, known as Tiri, to their ranks ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Super League. The player took to Twitter to confirm the move.

"Happy to join to Jamshedpur FC, my new home. I will do everything to achieve the main objective, to win the Indian Super League. See you soon Jamshedpur FC" stated the player, using a graphic on Twitter.

Tiri, who has previously played for Spanish clubs Cadiz, Atletico Madrid 'B' and Marbella, joined ATK in the 2015 season from Atletico Madrid 'B' side and managed a total of 1,170 minutes in the league. He stabilized the ATK back four playing alongside Indian veteran Arnab Mondal. The left footed player, who plays primarily as a centre back, can also slot in as a left back if required. In his first full season, the defender guided the Kolkata based club to the semi-finals where they eventually lost to Chennaiyin FC.

Tiri returned to Atleti 'B' but soon confirmed that he would be playing for ATK in ISL 2016 season. The Spanish defender had played a major role in ATK's title challenge the previous season and had the same effect in the final, in which ATK defeated Kerela Blasters on penalties.

Jamshedpur coach Steve Coppell looks to be building a formidable back line for his squad. Scoring against Jamshedpur this season could be a daunting task for teams, with Tiri lining up alongside Jamshedpur's first-round draft pick Anas Edathodika and veteran goalkeeper Subrata Pal between the sticks.
