Borussia Dortmund left Munich with a point that feels like more than a draw. The 2:2 at the Allianz Arena on October 31 kept the BVB level with Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga on 18 points, and the manner of the result reinforced a growing sense that Dortmund are genuine title contenders this season. Twice they fell behind, twice they found an answer, with substitute Fabio Silva's late equaliser in the 89th minute completing the comeback.

The performance of 19-year-old centre-back Joane Gadou was one of the clearest signs of how far this squad has developed. Deployed at right-back in a back four, the summer signing produced numbers that stood out even in elite company: five tackles, nine ball recoveries, eight duels won. Sporting director Ole Book called his progress week-on-week "really very good," and the club's hierarchy are already working to tie down other key figures. BVB managing director Carsten Cramer confirmed that contract extension talks with Waldemar Anton and Serhou Guirassy are ongoing, describing the situation as running "in the background, with the goal in sight."

Attention now turns to Wednesday's Champions League home fixture against Real Betis at the Signal Iduna Park, before a Bundesliga return against Elversberg on November 7. The schedule is demanding, but Dortmund's squad depth has handled the workload well so far, and confidence within the group appears high.
