    Kaze confident

Kaizer Chiefs assistant head coach Cedric Kaze believes the team will be much stronger when the unavailable players return to action.

Chiefs were forced to face Kabuscorp without Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, and Siphesihle Ndlovu; nonetheless, they managed to win and progress to the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup

    Chiefs willl be better

"We came into the game with a couple of injuries and a couple of players that were not registered, but were, but we believe going into the second phase, we can have more players available. Mako, Monyane, Ndlovu, and we will be better than at this stage," Kaze told SABC Sports

    Deserved the win

Additionally, the Burundian believes the Glamour Boys deserved to win over their Angolan rivals.

"It was a good performance overall, and we deserved to win and even finish the game early. We had the opportunities to score and kill the game; unfortunately, we went to the penalties," he added.

"Before the game, we spoke about staying mentally strong until the very end. The success is for the players; they have done everything they could on the pitch. Kudos to everyone.

"In the second half, I feel that we did not have patience, and we were a little bit nervous. There were some moments and situations that killed the flow of the game, but everyone did everything they could, and we are happy to go to the next stage," he continued.

"We could have made the game a little easier if we had dealt with the first leg, but it is a lesson that we are taking. We need to play away with courage and belief, and even to score in away games."

    Comeback

The Glamour Boys came into this game trailing 1-0 after losing the first leg. A goal by Glody Lilepo at the FNB Stadium restored parity and gave the Premier Soccer League side a lease of life.

Chiefs finally booked their ticket in the next round courtesy of a 5-4 victory in the post-match penalties.

The victory against their continental rivals came even without key players who were signed to bolster the squad.
