Big mission to overturn the Luanda defeat

Kaizer Chiefs are readying themselevs to host Kabuscorp in a CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round, second leg match at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The Soweto giants go into this match trying to overturn a 1-0 defeat suffered in the first leg away in Luanda last week.

Who are the players missing for Chiefs?

“After the last game against Marumo Gallants. unfortunately Mayo can’t feature. He is not registered yet. The deadline passed before he came to us," said Kaze when speaking to reporters.
"Then tomorrow, we will be without Paseka Mako and [Siphesihle] Ndlovu who were injured in the last game."

A big test of character for Amakhosi

This is a big match which Chiefs would have needed all their players to be available for selection.

Defeat would end their participation in the Confederation Cup this season and would raise questions about the quality of their squad if they can seriously challenge for the Premier Soccer League title.

For a team going into this match on the backdrop of a three-match winless streak, Amakhosi would be challenged to rise from a tough situation they are in.

    What next for Chiefs?

Mayo had started life at Amakhosi on a high note after scoring during midweek against Marumo Gallants.

That leaves the coaches with the likes of Glody Lilepo, Flavio Silva, Ashley du Preez and Wandile Duba to choose from.
