The Soweto giants are in Angola as they get the ball rolling in the continent's second-tier club competition at 11 November Stadium on Saturday. They arrived in Luanda on the backdrop of a chaotic week, which first saw them losing their first Premier Soccer League game of the season after falling to Sekhukhune United. That was followed by the Nasreddine Nabi drama, which has left them without a substantive head coach.

GOAL takes a look at how the Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coaches could select the starting line-up against Kabuscorp. Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱

  • Brandon Petersen, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2025Backpage

    GOALKEEPER: Brandon Petersen

After conceding for the first time this season in the 3-1 defeat by Sekhukhune United in a Premier Soccer League match, Petersen will be hoping it was not the opening of floodgates, as the season still has a long way to go.

  • Reeve Frosler, Kaizer ChiefsBackpage

    RIGHT-BACK: Reeve Frosler

After Thabiso Monyane did not make the trip to Luanda, Frosler is set to continue on the right side of defence.

  • Paseka Mako, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2025Backpagepix

    LEFT-BACK: Paseka Mako

The experience Mako gained playing CAF Champions League football with Orlando Pirates can come handy for Amakhosi.

  • Inacio Miguel, Kaizer ChiefsBackpage

    CENTRE-BACK: Inacio Miguel

The only Chiefs player to have faced Kabuscorp before, Miguel, would be key in helping Chiefs on how to deal with the Angolan side after the Chiefs defence conceded three goals in midweek.

  • Aden McCarthy, Kaizer ChiefsBackpage

    CENTRE-BACK: Aden McCarthy

Having never played at this level of football before, McCarthy would want to use the experience he has been gathering in the PSL to put up a good shift against Kabuscorp.

  • Thabo Cele, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2025Backpage

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDFER: Thabo Cele

The 28-year-old from KwaMashu in KwaZulu-Natal has played in Portugal before and that might be useful in hearing what their opponents will be plotting during the match.

  • Siphesihle Ndlovu of Kaizer ChiefsBackpagepix

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER: Siphesihle Ndlovu

The former Pirates midfielder is another player with experience in continental football, which is what Amakhosi need.

  • Gaston Sirino, Kaizer ChiefsBackpage

    ATTACKING MIDFIELDER: Gaston Sirino

The Uruguayan's experience is needed in such a match in the more demanding Confederation Cup.

  • Glody Lilepo, Kaizer ChiefsBackpage

    RIGHT ATTACKER: Glody Lilepo

The DR Congo attacker has one goal in six games this season and that puts him under challenge to improve his scoring rate.

  • Pule Mmodi of Kaizer Chiefs and Thabang Monare of Sekhukhune UnitedBackpagepix

    LEFT ATTACKER: Pule Mmodi

Mmodi can be hard to contain and would want to cause problems for the Angolan side especially with his speed.

  • Flavio Silva of Kaizer ChiefsBackpagepix

    CENTRE-FORWARD: Flavio Silva

Having scored two goals in as many appearances for Chiefs, this is a player who has picked up confidence and can prove to be a match-winner.
