Orlando Pirates vs Royal AM Preview: Kick-off time, TV channel, Squad news

Orlando Pirates have an opportunity to pull away from SuperSport United on the Premier Soccer League table when they host Royal AM at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers’ bid to finish the season as PSL runners-up to champions Mamelodi Sundowns got a big boost after third-placed Matsatsantsa were held 0-0 by Stellenbosch on Tuesday.

That leaves Pirates guaranteed to remain on the second spot even if they lose to Royal AM.

But victory would be crucial for Jose Riveiro and his men who will go four points clear of SuperSport if they win.

Pirates collecting three points on Wednesday would also see Kaizer Chiefs out of the race to secure a Caf Champions spot for next season.

That would leave the top-two quest being an affair between Bucs and SuperSport going into the final two league games.

Pirates are also keen for a positive result against Royal AM as a confidence booster ahead of Saturday’s Nedbank Cup Soweto Derby showdown against Chiefs.

They are already a motivated side, having won six successive league games and they face their KwaZulu-Natal opponents who have recorded just one victory in their last five matches.

But Thwihli Thwahla can be unpredictable and are no pushovers, posing a threat to cause an upset in Soweto as they press to finish the season in the top eight.

GOAL brings you all the details on how to watch the Pirates versus the Royal AM as well as the team news.
