Why Gor Mahia opted against extending Agwanda stay

Gor Mahia have decided against extending striker Enock Agwanda's stay at the club.

The former Sofapaka man was expected to extend his contract with the fifteen times league champions by two years on Tuesday but the deal fell through in the last minute. According to Organizing Secretary Judith Nyangi, the player walked off half way the discussions leaving K'Ogalo officials dumbfounded.

"We had agreed on everything and all that was remaining was for the player to sign the contract, however, he stood up and just walked away saying he is going to read it. He left us seated and walked off, it was disrespectful to us. The NEC decided to release him, meaning he is no longer part of the Gor Mahia family," Nyangi told Goal.

On Friday, Gor Mahia completed the signing of goalkeeper Peter Odhiambo from Mathare United on a three year deal. Odhiambo has been the third choice goalkeeper at the 'slum boys' behind Wycliffe Kasaya and Robert Mboya, who has joined Kariobangi Sharks.
