Tennis star Kyrgios reveals his love for Tottenham... and an unlikely favourite player

EXTRA TIME

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios has revealed he has an unlikely favourite Tottenham player - former striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The 20-year-old, who will face Tomas Berdych in the third round of the Austalian Open, discussed his support for Spurs at a press conference following his victory over Pablo Cuevas.

Kyrgios visited Tottenham for a tour of their facilities in 2014 and says he first became a fan because Adebayor - another athlete who knows something about mixing precocious talent with questionable effort levels - was "a boss on Fifa".

"I used to play a lot of Fifa," he said. "It's sort of died down a bit.

"I don't play so much, but I'm a massive fan of Adebayor and he doesn't play there anymore. I've just stayed with that team.

"He was a boss on Fifa. He was a scoring machine. That pretty much just stayed."
