PSV are weighing up a move for Ayoni Santos, according to Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad. The Dutch champions see him as a possible replacement for Couhaib Driouech, who looks set to join Celta de Vigo.
Driouech had already agreed terms with Rangers FC last week, but the move collapsed after his medical. The Scottish club said he would only be fit after six weeks, while PSV insisted he would be ready to play within a week.
Now the winger has moved to Celta de Vigo. He is not part of PSV's matchday squad on Sunday. The Eindhoven club are set to bank €8 million from the deal.
Behind Ruben van Bommel, PSV already have highly rated talent Amir Bouhamdi waiting in the wings, but Santos still interests the club. The Sparta forward can also play as a number 10.
Cape Verde have capped Santos once. He is under contract at Het Kasteel until mid-2029 and, according to Transfermarkt, is still valued at €2 million.
So far, Santos has made 53 appearances for Sparta's first team. He has scored 13 goals and registered eight assists in those games. This season, he has already started three times.
