Matej Kovar starts in goal at the Philips Stadion. Sergiño Dest and Mauro Júnior fill the right-back and left-back slots. Ryan Flamingo and Armando Obispo make up the heart of the PSV defence.
In midfield, Kodai Sano comes in for Veerman, who has left for Borussia Dortmund. Paul Wanner and Guus Til complete PSV's midfield against the visitors from Groningen.
Out wide, the versatile Ivan Perisic starts on the right, while Ruben van Bommel operates from the left. Ricardo Pepi leads the line and must provide the threat in front of the Groningen goal.
Last week, PSV squeezed past Exelsior 1-2. FC Groningen were more convincing, winning 1-4 away to promoted side ADO Den Haag.
