'I am very happy' - Jesus delighted by Man City start

New Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus has admitted he is delighted with his strong start for the club, but is 'very surprised' at how fast it has happened.

The 19-year-old moved to the Premier League from Palmeiras, making his first appearance for Pep Guardiola's side off the bench on January 22 against Tottenham.

Since then, Jesus has started all three City games, scoring three times, including a late winner in the 2-1 victory over Swansea City.

The Brazil international is pleased with how well things are going for him, and thanked his team-mates for helping him settle in at the Etihad.

“I am very happy,” Jesus told the club's official website. “Each day I feel that I am adjusting really well, with the support of everyone in the club.

“The players, they help me every day and that makes me happy, even more because I am able to make a good start in a City shirt.”

Jesus also admitted that he did not expect things to fall into place so quickly for him following his £27 million move from Palmeiras.

As well as the three goals, Jesus has provided assists for two more strikes, helping keep talisman Sergio Aguero out of the team.

“Yes, I am very surprised,” he continued. “Although I work a lot every single day, with everyone’s support, in order for that to happen.”
