Euro 2020 Qualification
Despite their troubles, Euro 2020 qualification was actually plain sailing for Germany with seven wins and just a single loss in their eight matches.
Although they did go down 4-2 at home to the Netherlands, Joachim Low's side never looked in danger of finishing in any other position than first and recorded an impressive 8-0 win over Estonia.
Serge Gnabry netted two of his eight qualifying goals in that match, making him the joint-top scorer in Group C alongside Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
Tournament History
Germany are without doubt the most consistent team in the history of the European Championships with three titles, three losses in the final and a further three at the semi-final stage.
No team has played more games in the finals than the 49 Die Mannschaft have, and they have also won the most games in this competition with 26 victories.
It has been 25 years since they last lifted this trophy, but the superstitious will note that the Euro 96 final was played at Wembley Stadium - where the 2020 showpiece will be held.
