“This has been a very difficult moment for me because I have been watching people train yet I cannot play. It hurts more that I am out of the team and we are struggling to score,” he told the club official portal.

Ahmed now joins the growing list of crooked players like Roy Syamba and Alphonce Ndonye on the treatment table.

Ahmed is expected to return to action earlly September, leaving head coach Francis Kimanzi with a daunting task of shuffling between club’s top scorer Chrispin Oduor, Tyson Otieno and David Owino as the only options for his attacking midfield as he tries to pull Mathare off the mad off the bottom of the table.

The ‘slum boys’ are currently 17th on the 18 team table with 11 points from 15 matches. Mathare will next host Sony Sugar in a league match on July 15.
