He saw off five rivals to claim the prize. Manchester City had Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki on the shortlist, while Arsenal boasted the biggest presence with three names: defender Gabriel Magalhaes, goalkeeper David Raya and midfielder Declan Rice.
