Alejandro Balde has made up his mind about leaving Barcelona, with his future the subject of growing speculation.
Much still hangs in the balance. The Catalan club could yet listen to offers for Balde, using the funds to rebuild their defence around a new signing.
Hansi Flick left the left-back out of his squad for Sunday's trip to Elche, Barca's La Liga opener, throwing the defender's future back into doubt just days before the transfer window shuts.
Speaking to Movistar before kick-off, the German coach revealed he had spoken with Balde that morning and told him he was "not fully committed". Staying at home, Flick explained, was the best option for the player to clear his head, with the pair set to talk again the following day.

In his pre-match press conference, Flick had already dropped a hint about Balde's possible exit, insisting every Barcelona player must be fully convinced they can fight for their place.
The left-back sees it differently. He wants to stay in Catalonia and win back his spot in the starting eleven, according to Cadena SER radio.
Balde reads Flick's comments, from a coach he expects more from, as a nudge to raise his game rather than a signal to pack his bags. An offer could still shift the picture, though, if Barcelona make clear they no longer count on him.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are watching closely. They could move for him should anything change in the coming weeks.
