The knock forced the Italian midfielder to leave the national team camp, and now he's set to miss the ever-important clash this weekend against league leaders, Inter. It's good news for Weston McKennie, though, as the midfielder now has an open slot with his name on it.

McKennie has been a mainstay in the Juventus XI all season, but he's had no permanent spot due to constant changing by Allegri. However, with Locatelli out, the Bianconeri will need the USMNT midfielder central - his best role - to lock down the middle of the pitch. For Juventus as a whole, though, this could be the most important match of the year for them, as the Serie A title race already looks to be taking shape.

McKennie has been featuring as a right wing-back for Juventus this season at times, competing for starting minutes alongside international teammate Tim Weah. Neither properly fit the role, but Juve boss Allegri has pushed them into the position to get the most out of his selection.

The match is set to be played Sunday afternoon, and it's the most highly anticipated contest on the schedule this year for both sides.
