'Waste of time' - England fans hit out at 'tedious' Thomas Tuchel after Three Lions struggle to drab win over Andorra

It was an effective if not awe-inspiring victory by the Three Lions, as a Christian Garcia own goal after 25 minutes was followed up by Declan Rice to secure a 2-0 victory in England's World Cup qualifier. While the result looked comfortable for much of the game, fans were not convinced.

England fan @Trevorlloyd92 wrote on X: "England are actually worse to watch under Tuchel than we were under Southgate. Get him gone. Waste of time."

Another user, @Funwithflares, added: "I have to say, England under Thomas Tuchel is really dull watching."

@TheMarkFlanagran agreed: "Watching England is tedious. No guile, no craft, no imagination, no pace, no adventure. They have wingers who can't cross a ball and are making Andorra look good. #tuchel#ENGAND#tuchelout"

A fourth user, @Ankaman616, said: "Limited learnings to be made against an opponent like Andorra. Tuchel's version of England look competent, but it feels a bit... Capello-esque?"

While @Billie_T went a step further as to say: "I’d bin Tuchel off for Ange immediately and I’m not joking. Ange wouldn’t even bother playing a defender against sh*te like Andorra, be far better than this sh*te."

Despite perceived shortcomings in performance levels, England retain a strong early record under Tuchel. The Three Lions have won all four competitive fixtures with the German at the helm without conceding a goal, with a combined score of 8-0. But England came unstuck against Senegal, arguably the strongest opponents they have faced so far, in a 3-1 defeat in June. There is certainly still work to be done, according to fans.

A trip to Serbia is next up on Tuesday in arguably the toughest match of qualifying for England. The true test will come in the World Cup next summer if qualification is achieved. Tuchel arrived on a short-term contract with the sole goal of winning the World Cup in 2026. With a fully fit squad available to pick from next year and key figures likely still to emerge, we will find out how good Tuchel's England truly are.
