English Premier League side Fulham have announced that U.S. men's national team defender Antonee Robinson underwent successful minor right knee surgery on Tuesday and will now be undergoing a period of rehabilitation over the summer in order to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season.
Robinson, 27, was not named to Mauricio Pochettino's CONCACAF Gold Cup training camp roster, with the U.S. manager saying the federation spoke with Fulham about what the best decision to make was for the player this summer.
"We were considerate and talked with the medical staff and the staff from Fulham about the situation," Pochettino said after announcing his roster last week. "He was visiting different specialists, and it's still not clear, the situation. I'm no doctor to explain the problem that he has, but it's a player who hasn't been training much over the last few months...He's only been competing on the weekend, and then, next weekend, they'll see if he can play or not. I saw it as a big risk and, in this moment, we need to consider and pay attention to the advice of the medical staff and, of course, Fulham."
