Spain hero Jenni Hermoso to make first public appearance since Luis Rubiales incident and admits she’s ‘nervous’ ahead of commentary debut for El Clasico

    Hermoso will make her first public appearance since she was forcibly kissed by Rubiales following Spain's Women's World Cup triumph, when she commentates on El Clasico on Sunday. Rubiales was given a three-year ban from football for his conduct, a punishment he has vowed to appeal.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Hermoso admits that she is "nervous" to be in the commentary booth this weekend, but there will be two other commentators working alongside her. She has previously revealed that she had to work with a psychologist to move on from the impact of Rubiales' actions.

    In an upcoming interview from DAZN, Hermoso said: "I'm nervous, I've never done it before, and I didn't expect it to be in such a beautiful match. I'm very excited and I'm looking forward to it.

    "I have always said that the quality of the Spanish players can't be found anywhere else. Today you can see the fruits of a long time's work, to see it from the outside is a real source of pride."

    She will be involved when Real take on Barcelona this weekend. Barca have won all eight of their opening eight games and have a three-point lead on second-placed Real, meaning a tasty encounter surely awaits.
