Rodri returns! Ballon d'Or winner named on bench for Kevin De Bruyne's Man City farewell with midfielder overcoming ACL injury before end of season

The Ballon d'Or winner has not played for Manchester City since suffering an ACL tear back in September 2024 that was expected to keep him out for the rest of the season. However, Rodri has returned more quickly than originally anticipated and could feature against Bournemouth after being named among the substitutes for the Premier League clash between the two sides at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City fans will be eager to see Rodri return but the game against Bournemouth will also be the chance to wave farewell to club legend Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian star has already announced he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, and the visit from Bournemouth will be his final game for the Cityzens at the Etihad.

Manchester City have won all seven of their Premier League home games against Bournemouth.

Manchester City have work to do to secure Champions League football for next season. They head into the match in sixth place in the table but will move into third, ahead of the final round of fixtures, with a win.
