    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Fierce competition for places - as he sat behind the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior in the attacking pecking order - restricted Endrick to just three La Liga starts during his debut campaign with the Blancos.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

He managed only seven goals across all competitions, leading to suggestions that a loan move could be sanctioned in order to get the regular game time that his ongoing development needs.

According to Cadena Cope a deal had been struck with Real Sociedad, with said agreement “days away” from being processed. Endrick then suffered a relapse of his hamstring injury at the FIFA Club World Cup and is expected to be out until late September or early October.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR ENDRICK?

Real must now decide whether they sanction a similar switch for Gonzalo Garcia, after seeing him impress at the Club World Cup, or wait until January before readdressing Endrick’s future - with Xabi Alonso eager to trim his squad and keep everybody happy.
