Real Madrid handed Vinicius Jr boost after Saudi Pro League end summer interest in Brazil winger amid crunch contract talks

Vinicius has been a major target for the Saudi Pro League in the last few years and is yet to agree a new contract extension with Madrid. However, according to Cadena SER, interest from the Middle East has ended for the summer with no plans to offer the Brazil international a lucrative move to the region.

Vinicius has developed into one of the best players in the world since moving to the Bernabeu. However, his current deal expires in 2027 and it has been claimed the 25-year-old wants to be made the highest paid player in Los Blancos' squad ahead of fellow superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Vinicius is thought to have previously met with important officials from the Saudi Pro League after being offered a €1bn (£832.2m) deal. While Madrid are keen to agree fresh terms with the forward, they have also identified Manchester City striker Erling Haaland as a potential replacement if Vinicius was to leave in the near future.

Real Madrid's pre-season training programme will start on Monday following a long 2024-25 campaign which ended with participation in the Club World Cup. They have one solitary friendly against WSG Tirol in Austria before they start their La Liga title bid with a home game against Osasuna.
