    WHAT MANCHESTER UNITED SAID

A statement on United's website reads: "Manchester United have received a double fitness boost during Wednesday's training session. Both Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund trained with the group at Carrington, with our photographers capturing the pair working hard to prove they are ready to return to action."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Erik ten Hag's team had a mountain of injuries to contend with last season, including the absences of Hojlund and Mount for periods. But having them back fit gives United more strength in depth, with both having a shot at being regular starters.
