The talismanic striker was in scorching form against Mansfield as he scored both goals in Wrexham's 2-0 win. His second spot-kick saw him thump his effort down the middle leaving goalkeeper Christy Pym bamboozled by the power behind the shot.

However, questions have been raised about whether there should have been a penalty in the first place as replays showed that Luke Bolton was fouled by Jordan Bowery outside the box.

Mullin's second goal was his 20th strike this season for Wrexham. The prolific goalscorer is now on 99 goals for the Welsh club and had he netted a hat-trick, it would have been his 100th strike. He will instead have to wait to bring up that milestone.

Mullin needs to wait until Tuesday to reach the incredible 100-goal landmark when he will be in action against Doncaster in a League Two fixture.
