Birmingham were leading 3-1 in the match when Paul Mullin sparked a brawl between the two sides at St Andrew's. The Wrexham striker reacted angrily to a challenge which ultimately led to both sets of players confronting each other on the pitch, while Birmingham co-owner Tom Brady could be seen applauding in the stands. Mullin had almost bit Cochrane as he appeared to have opened his mouth on top of the opponent's leg and then seemingly thought better of it.
