Mason Mount to Serie A?! Injury-ridden England star could swap Man Utd for Inter Milan with Nerazzurri ready to gamble on ex-Chelsea midfielder

According to InterLive, Milan are eyeing a loan move for the 26-year-old with an option to buy. However, they will reportedly want United to pay a significant portion of his rumoured £250,000-a-week wages as they seek a long-term replacement for 36-year-old Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Mount joined United from Chelsea in 2023 for an initial £55 million ($69.7m) but since then he has played just 32 times and spent long periods on the sidelines through injury. He is currently out with a leg issue and rumours are growing that the Red Devils may cut their losses on the England international.

Mount, who has had various calf and thigh injuries over the past 20 months at United, has scored just one goal and bagged one assist for the Red Devils to date.

Mount is expected to return to action in March but it remains to be seen how much of a role he will play at United over the tail end of the season.
