Man Utd agree deal to sign Liam Delap but left waiting for decision from Ipswich star with Chelsea also chasing £30m striker

Per ESPN, United have informed Ipswich that they are ready to trigger Delap's £30 million ($40m) release clause and are now waiting for the player to give his approval. The club have already held talks with the Delap's representatives and it now comes down to the striker making a final call on his future.

Delap, who scored 12 Premier League goals in his debut campaign at Portman Road, has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Chelsea. The Red Devils are looking to act swiftly in the transfer market and will hope to wrap up the deal as early as possible.

Ruben Amorim's United are also on the verge of sealing a deal for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and have also shown interest in signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, who is likely to cost £50 million ($66m).

While the Old Trafford outfit will look to add as many players as possible this summer, they could face financial issues after missing out on £85m ($115m) by losing the Europa League final against Tottenham.
