The Manchester City star was forced off inside the opening 20 minutes of England's 1-0 loss to Brazil on Saturday. The 33-year-old, who captained the Three Lions at Wembley, took to social media to say it was an "honour" to skipper the side and hopes he does not have a serious injury.

  • WHAT KYLE WALKER SAID

The City and England defender wrote on Instagram: "Frustrating to come off injured in last night's (Saturday) game especially when captaining the side. A truly great honour. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious and I’m back ASAP."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Walker's injury is likely to rule him out of England's friendly against Belgium on Tuesday but it remains to be seen if the veteran will be fit for Manchester City's crunch clash against Premier League title rivals Arsenal on Sunday, March 31. If the former Tottenham man is out for a while, that would be a huge blow for Pep Guardiola's men.

  • WHAT NEXT?

After the heavyweight Arsenal clash at the Etihad next weekend, Walkers' City side host top-four chasing Aston Villa at home four days later before travelling to Crystal Palace on April 6. After that, it's the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Real Madrid three days later at Santiago Bernabeu.
