Man City and Liverpool write letters to their fans warning them against missile throwing and tragedy chanting during Saturday's heavyweight Premier League clash

Fans have been warned not to throw missiles or engage in tragedy chanting during the match, according to the Daily Mail. Previous games between the Premier League rivals have seen fans misbehave and both clubs are keen to avoid any more disorder. Just one point separates the two teams in the Premier League table going into the crunch clash. City are top on 28 points from their opening 12 games, while Liverpool are just a point behind.

Concerns over potential trouble in the fixture has already meant that the police have refused permission for the game to kick off at 5.30pm local time. It will instead start at 12.30pm in a move which has angered Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. The German has hit out at the lack of preparation time for his players, although Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has fired back by insisting he's feeling sharp.

Manchester City boss Guardiola has the edge on Klopp when it comes to Premier League encounters between his team and Liverpool. Guardiola has won five of the 14 meetings between the two managers, while Klopp has only won four.

Saturday's match could well have a bearing on where the title ends up at the end of the season. A win for City will move the champions four points clear of the Reds, while an away win will see Klopp's side leapfrog the hosts in the table. Both teams will then turn their thoughts to European competition, with City set to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday and Liverpool hosting LASK in the Europa League on Thursday.
