    According to The xG Philosophy, Liverpool accumulated an expected goals (xG) value of 7.53 xG, which is more than any other team has recorded in the Premier League this season, compared to Newcastle United's figure of 0.70 xG.

    While Salah's two penalties would account for around 1.5 xG given their high probability of going in, Liverpool were still exceptionally dominant in this fixture and could've scored several more goals. The likes of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez all saw efforts either go wide or well-saved by Martin Dubravka in the Newcastle goal.
