    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Miami trailed briefly as Messi found the net with a perfectly placed curling shot into the bottom corner of the net - a spectacular strike showcasing Messi's trademark precision and vision. However, it was what Messi did next that caught everyone’s attention.

  • WHAT WAS THE CELEBRATION

In a nod to his sons, who were watching from the stands, Messi brought out yet another Marvel-themed celebration. After his goal, the 37-year-old stood still, placing his hands by his side with his palms facing downwards. He then raised his heels off the ground in a move mimicking Iron Man’s flight.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

This wasn’t Messi’s first time referencing Marvel in his goal celebrations. Previously, he had performed other iconic poses, including reaching out for Thor’s hammer, crossing his arms over his chest like Black Panther, and shooting imaginary webs like Spider-Man.
