Goals, entertainment and only one team in it. Fabregas's Como swept aside Lens away from home. Here are the player ratings.
AFPLens-Como, CM’s player ratings: Nico Paz puts on a show, Douvikas like Del Piero. Papaccioli scores on debut
Lens
Risser 6: He can do nothing about eight of the nine goals conceded and still emerges as his side's best player. But he makes a mistake for Liberali's goal to make it 7-0, getting caught out at his near post.
Antonio 5: Better than his team-mates in the first 45 minutes, he loses his way along with everyone else in a horror second half.
Baidoo 4: Douvikas gives him no fixed point of reference, leaving him all at sea. The defence he leads comes under repeated pressure on the right, but Como breach it above all on the left.
Udol 4: Asked at times to step out to Nico Paz and at others to track Douvikas's movement, he forgets to cover Da Cunha's run inside. He has no answer all match as Como repeatedly break through down his side.
Aguilar 4.5: His beautiful volleyed goal earns him an extra point, but he still ranks among his side's worst players. Como find no resistance down his flank.
Cuisance 5: Always out of position and a step late, he watches play pass him by. His only challenge worthy of the name earns him a yellow card at 8-1.
Haidara 5: Plenty of running, remarkably little effect. He never manages to shield the defence from Como's forward passes.
(from the 70th minute, Bulatovic 5.5: he has the good fortune to come on when Como slow the tempo)
Skoras 5: Substituted at half-time, he makes just one mistake, failing to track Valle for the 2-0 goal.
(from the 46th minute, Saud 5 Como make relatively few breakthroughs down his side, as they did with the team-mate he replaced, so he bears less of the brunt of what Nico Paz and his team-mates produce)
Thauvin 6: His side's most inspired player, he looks for a goal, roams across the attack and comes close to winning a penalty.
(from the 70th minute, Kadile 5.5: he has the good fortune to come on when Como slow the tempo)
Ivanovic 5: His highlight, too, is the headbutt he gives Kempf and receives from him. It leaves him dazed, and he goes off at half-time.
(from the 46th minute, Mesloub 5: like his fellow attackers, he gets almost no playable balls and does almost nothing to go and get them).
Hazard 5: Supposed to offer more talent and quality than anyone in his side bar Thauvin, he never supplies a playable ball.
Manager Cahuzac 3: Fabregas has him dancing the rumba, and he finds no answer. The scoreline is fair, but even that understates what happened on the pitch.
Como
Butez 6: Alert to Lens's few shots, he also uses his feet well to find Fabregas's forwards with long balls. He can do nothing about Aguilar's volleyed goal.
Couto 6.5: He spends much of the match watching attentively. Lens never commit men forward down his side, leaving him more freedom than he chooses to use. He plays forward whenever he can, but rarely goes wide and ends up getting in Nico Paz's way.
Ramon 7: Douvikas steals the opening goal from him at close range, but Ramon again dominates in both penalty areas. His quality on the ball shows in the pass that sends Liberali through on goal for 7-1.
Kempf 7: A clash of heads with Ivanovic looks set to be the unfortunate highlight of his match. Otherwise, he marks his man without fault and puts his head to better use in the opposition penalty area, twisting to score an excellent goal that makes it 5-0.
(from the 72nd minute, Smolcic 6: he comes on as Como slow the tempo and take control)
Valle 7: Solid defensively, he starts the move for 2-0 at the back and finishes it with the assist for Douvikas's easy tap-in.
Milla 7: He sets the tempo for an orchestra that does nothing wrong, dictating when Como move the ball and when they burst forward. He does it all without drawing attention to himself. Simple and effective.
(from the 58th minute, Ricci 6.5: like his team-mates, he does his job without mistakes or drawing attention to himself)
Perrone 7: His header leads to the opening goal, breaking the deadlock and sending Lens into disarray. He plays a part in every dangerous Como attack without drawing attention to himself and adds physical presence in midfield challenges.
Da Cunha 7.5: The usual personality, quality and courage on the ball. He stays composed defensively, too, and adds a goal with the strike that makes it 4-0.
(from the 58th minute, Liberali 8: a goal and two assists for him too, setting up Baturina and Papaccioli between the lines. The talent keeps growing)
Nico Paz 8.5: His trademark body feint and dribble cause problems for half the Lens defence. The Argentinian's cross starts the move for 1-0, and he finishes with two assists and a goal. Phenomenal.
(from the 58th minute, Baturina 7: he replaces the best player on the pitch but refuses to be outdone, showing great skill to beat Risser too for 8-1)
Caqueret 6.5: Less explosive and less involved than his team-mates in Como's dominant attacking play, but he still does his job.
Douvikas 8: Four goals in four matches, Como's first four in the Champions League, are already a record for the Greek striker. He equals a statistic etched into history by Alessandro Del Piero, who scored in the first five matches of Juventus's first Champions League campaign after the competition took that name in 1995/96. Douvikas completes his hat-trick and makes runs that open up oceans of space in the Lens defence. As things stand, he is also the top scorer in this season's Champions League.
(from the 61st minute, Papaccioli 7: the young Como talent's emotion is there for all to see. He makes excellent runs and gets his reward in the 91st minute when Liberali plays him in just behind the line to score on his Champions League debut).
Fabregas 8: He reads the match brilliantly, breaks the deadlock early and keeps his foot on the accelerator. He has an answer for every move and uses his substitutions to show his players where to attack. He even gives practically all his key players 30 minutes' rest ahead of the next Serie A match against Inter. That sends a message to Chivu, given that this Lens side have shown many of the flaws Inter displayed at the start of this season.
