Is Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid a taboo subject at PSG? Lucas Hernandez reveals dressing room approach to transfer soap opera

Mbappe's future at PSG remains the subject of intense speculation. The France international has reportedly decided to join Real Madrid at the end of the season, but Los Blancos are struggling to agree a financial package with the forward. Lucas Hernandez has been asked if the subject of Mbappe heading to the Spanish capital is taboo in the PSG dressing room and revealed how the players are dealing with the speculation.

He told RMC Sport: "If I tell you the reality, we don't talk about it. We know that there is a lot of waiting behind him. So, we don't want to annoy him too much, ask him. It's up to him to make the best decision for him, for his family, for his career. I think the decision he makes will be the correct one, hoping that he stays at Paris Saint-Germain with us."

If Mbappe does move to Madrid then he will bring to an end a lengthy transfer saga and strengthen an already impressive team by linking up with stars such as Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham. Madrid are enjoying a strong season and currently sit top of La Liga, two points clear of Girona. Mbappe's departure would also be another blow for PSG, who have already lost key stars such as Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Mbappe's future is far from certain with there still being plenty of obstacles to overcome before he can secure a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu. In the meantime he will aim to add more trophies to his cabinet with PSG. The team sit eight points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table and have a Champions League last 16 clash with Real Sociedad to look forward to.
