Jurgen Klopp to succeed Jose Mourinho? Roma target departing Liverpool boss to replace Portuguese coach in ‘dream’ summer move

The Italian team recently sacked Portuguese manager Mourinho and are in the market for a permanent replacement, having appointed Daniele De Rossi as coach until the end of the season. The capital club have made Liverpool boss Klopp their top target to take over, according to Il Messaggero.

Klopp announced on Friday that he will step down as Liverpool coach at the end of the season after almost nine years in charge at Anfield. It is not known where he will end up next but it appears that Roma believe they can lure him to Serie A.

Roma are currently seventh in Serie A and sit two points outside of the top four. The Rome team are hoping to improve on what has been a disappointing season so far, resulting in ex-Chelsea and Manchester United boss Mourinho's dismissal.

Klopp will see out the rest of the season with Liverpool before he ends his spell in charge of the Reds. The German coach will then consider his options before he opts to continue his career at another club.
