    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Johan Cruyff is a legendary figure at Camp Nou, being renowned for implementing the club's traditional style of play during his time as manager. The Dutchman passed away in 2016 but son Jordi says his father would have approved of the current squad's efforts at San Siro.

  • WHAT CRUYFF SAID

Speaking on Movistar+, Cruyff said: "I'd like to say goodnight, but it's difficult. It's a feeling that's hard to explain. I'm speechless. It's sad, but at the same time it leaves you with a feeling of pride and a great game, but it hurts.

"Yes, I think if my father could choose a way to play football, it would be the way we're playing, and if we have to lose, let it be with honoUr, let it be with enjoyment. I have to admit it was a spectacular tie, and we lost with honor and with it in our grasp. There was a moment when we felt like we were in the final. It was almost a done deal, and I don't know how it turned out the way it did. My father would be very proud of the team, of how they played, of their intentions, and everything. If we have to lose, let it be with pride, the way we did."

    WHAT NEXT FOR BARCELONA?

Despite the disappointment of Tuesday night, Barcelona still have the chance to secure a third domestic trophy this season. After their triumphs in the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana, Hansi Flick's side can wrap up the La Liga title in the final weeks of the campaign and will move seven points clear of Real Madrid if they win El Clasico on Sunday.
