Jadon Sancho sent strong 'fit' warning by Enzo Maresca after Chelsea's Conference League win over Heidenheim

The winger played a starring role by setting up both goals in the Blues' 2-0 win against Heidenheim, maintaining their perfect start in the competition after four matches. The match in Germany was just the fifth he has started in all competitions since joining the London side from Manchester United on loan.

Despite his limited playing time, Maresca says the England international is a key figure for his side, adding that players like Sancho "are going to get more chances" as they gear up for a busy December.

"I said since we start, Jadon is very important for us. He has to be fit, mentally and physically and he is going to help us a lot," Maresca said. "Unfortunately we did not use him in the last few games but he is showing tonight how important he is. We need that quality in the last third against a low block. He is going to help us a lot."

Sancho was limited to a five-minute display against Leicester in Chelsea's last Premier League match and he will hope to get a longer run out when they meet Aston Villa this weekend.
