Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi challenged to boxing match by Logan Paul to settle PRIME energy drink lawsuit

Outspoken Paul partnered with KSI in 2022 to launch PRIME hydration – with said brand now an official partner of Arsenal, Barcelona, the LA Lakers NBA franchise and UFC. They took issue with Messi following the release of his Mas+ energy drink.

Messi’s product boasts packaging that could be considered very similar to PRIME. Mas+ were the first to take legal action, as they accused PRIME of forcing them into changes to their brand. PRIME hit back by claiming breaches of trademarked design.

Logan Paul has now vowed to settle the dispute out of court if eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi agrees to lace up a pair of gloves and join him in the ring. The WWE superstar has said in a video posted on social media: “Brother, you copied us. Everyone saw it. They saw what you did. Everyone notices it and then we got sued. Hold on, wait, what? This ain’t justice.

“So we countersued, obviously. If you can’t beat the best, you gotta be the best. But that’s illegal. That’s trademark infringement. We’re holding him accountable, and it’s harassment? All jokes aside, I will consider dropping this if Logan Paul vs Messi [gets made in] 2025. I’ll see you in the ring, brother.”

Paul has previously fought unbeaten former world champion Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition encounter, while he was supposed to be lining up a lucrative $250 million (£198m) superfight with MMA icon Conor McGregor before the UFC pulled the plug on those plans. Messi, meanwhile, is still plying his trade at 37 years of age for MLS Cup hopefuls Inter Miami.
