Hidden meaning to $5m Cristiano Ronaldo engagement ring? What Georgina Rodriguez’s dazzling diamond band represents

Having dated for the best part of a decade, becoming a family of five children along the way, Ronaldo and Rodriguez have finally decided that the time has come to start drawing up wedding plans. CR7 popped the question in mid-August 2025.

A dazzling diamond band now adorns the hand of Argentine-Spanish influencer Rodriguez, with various price tags being put on that special piece of jewelry. She posted on social media after seeing Ronaldo get down on one knee: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

Tobias Kormind, managing director of 77 Diamonds, has now told The Mirror all about a precious stone that is estimated to be 35 carat: “We estimate the value of Georgina Rodríguez's stunning engagement ring to be around $5 million.”

He added: “The ring is reminiscent of the famous Taylor-Burton Diamond, a 69.42 carat pear shape stone gifted to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton, who reportedly bought it from Cartier, who bought the rarity for over $1 million at auction.”

Kormind went on to say of what the ring that Ronaldo picked out for his partner represents: “The design adopts a three-stone configuration - in this case, a rare, triple-oval setting that imbues the ring with an air of vintage elegance, despite its flawless, modern feel.

“The trilogy setting - three stones together - traditionally symbolises the past, present and future of a couple, emphasising the continuous nature of Ronaldo and Georgina Rodgriguez's relationship.

“The ring design symbolises the shared memories of the past, the commitment of the present, and the promise of a united future for the two. The ring essentially says ‘you are my forever - my past, present and future’.”

With plenty to look forward to off the field, Ronaldo is showing no sign of slowing down on it. He remains a prolific presence for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr at 40 years of age, with a new contract being signed there, while the plan is - after helping his country to second UEFA Nations League title in 2025 - to grace the World Cup finals with Portugal next summer.
