  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Red Dragons are short on goalkeepers after seeing Arthur Okonkwo and Callum Burton both suffer injuries in recent weeks. Brad Foster was signed on a short-term contract last week and third-choice 'keeper Mark Howard kept a clean sheet in Saturday's win over Burton Albion, but Wrexham will be keen for Okonkwo, out with a broken wrist, to return as swiftly as possible.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Burton's injury - he's out for the season with a torn thigh muscle - left Wrexham scrambling for help, but they won't be making a call to Ben Foster after the 41-year-old firmly shut down any idea that he might come out of retirement again to help Phil Parkinson's side. Foster helped the club gain promotion to League Two before retiring for a second time in August 2023, citing his struggles after conceding 13 goals in four matches.

  • WHAT FOSTER SAID

"Hell no. Definitely not. Not this time round, no," Foster told Will Brazier. "Chomp [Howard] is a good goalie anyway, to be fair to him. It won’t happen again, definitely not."

    WHAT NEXT?

Wrexham are level on points with Wycombe at the top of League One after winning four matches in a row, with Phil Parkinson's team chasing a third successive promotion. The Red Dragons will hope to extend that winning run when they host Cambridge on Saturday.
