  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Red Dragons had to contend with testing weather conditions when paying a visit to the Pirelli Stadium. Swirling wind ended up working in their favour, with Storm Darragh claiming an unexpected assist as Wrexham midfielder Lee whipped over a second-half corner.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Lee’s set-piece delivery accelerated through the air, as it caught a timely gust, and sailed over Burton goalkeeper Max Crocombe. The ball ended up in the back of the net, via the inside of the post, and Wrexham dug in from there to pick up three hard-fought points against struggling opposition.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Lee told Wrexham’s official YouTube channel afterwards of scoring direct from a corner: “We do a lot on set pieces and with Parky, he gives us license to shoot and that’s basically what the plan was today with the wind, just shoot for goal and see what happens. The keeper will be under pressure, and luckily for me ones gone in the back stick.”

  • WHAT REYNOLDS SAID

Co-owner Reynolds was among those watching on from afar, having also sat out a trip to Cosm LA alongside Rob McElhenney for Wrexham’s 1-0 home win over Barnsley, and posted a “FFS, Elliot Lee” message after witnessing a stunning moment of individual brilliance.
