The Serie A side are hopeful of convincing star player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to sign a contract extension as they attempt to fight off interest in the winger from across Europe, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain said to be leading the race. Should they fail to lock the Georgia international down, though, they may move for Liverpool winger Chiesa to replace him, according to La Repubblica.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Chiesa joined Liverpool from Juventus at the end of August but he has managed just three appearances in all competitions, clocking up just 18 minutes in the Premier League, one minute in the Champions League and his solitary start coming in the Carabao Cup win against West Ham in September. Since then, he has been out with a muscle injury.
It is still unknown when Chiesa will be fit to feature for Arne Slot's team again or if he will be stuck on the sidelines until the Anfield club agree to let him leave.
