Fede Valverde reveals Carlo Ancelotti drove him 'a little crazy' with constant instructions during Champions League final victory

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Valverde expressed his disbelief at having to constantly change tactical direction under Ancelotti during Saturday's Champions League final. Madrid struggled in the first-half as Dortmund squandered chance after chance, but then grew into the game before scoring two unanswered goals. Valverde explained how Madrid's formation was fluid throughout, but eventually settled as a 4-3-3.

    WHAT VALVERDE SAID

    Speaking to Movistar on Ancelotti's changes, Valverde said: "Moving it around the field a lot! I understood what he wanted more or less... because he called me so many times that he was a little crazy! But it's normal, we were receiving a lot of attacks and we changed to 4-3-3, which gave us stability."

    Valverde will come up against a number of familiar faces in this summer's Copa America. The Uruguayan is in a group with the USA, Bolivia and Panama but may face off against the likes of Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao and Rodrygo should they face Brazil.
