Eintracht Frankfurt receive massive €70m offer for young midfielder but German side ready to reject it

Frankfurt received an astounding bid of €70m (£61m/$82m) from an unnamed Saudi club. The German club's sporting director Markus Krosche quickly rejected their advances as the club appreciate the player and are confidence that Bahoya can earn them much greater profits in the future, according to Absolut Fussball. The 20-year-old also wants to continue his journey with Frankfurt and is not looking to part ways with the club.

The Bundesliga club signed the French midfielder in 2024 from Ligue 1 side Angers in a deal worth €10m. The youngster quickly integrated into Frankfurt's squad and progressively earned more game time, playing 23 league matches during the 2024-25 season. In those appearances, he started in nine matches and came off the bench in 14, scoring two goals. Impressively, he has already equaled that goal tally this season by scoring two goals in the first two fixtures for Frankfurt.

The 20-year-old French international was crowned the fastest player to have played in the Bundesliga since at least the 2011-12 season during Frankfurt’s matchday 26 fixture against Bochum last season. He sprinted at an astonishing 23.09 mph (37.16 km/h), becoming the first player to surpass both 23 mph and 37 km/h in the league’s recorded stats. To put it in perspective, Bahoya’s top speed was just shy of Usain Bolt’s average speed of 23.35 mph (37.58 km/h) during his world-record 100-meter sprint at the 2009 World Championships.

Bahoya signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Bundesliga club last year which ties him to Frankfurt until 2029. For now, he is focused on developing under the guidance of head coach Dino Toppmoller, who has already successfully worked with top talents at the club, including Hugo Ekitike, Omar Marmoush and Randal Kolo Muani.
