Why Dani Olmo’s agent is in Manchester as Barcelona face losing star for FREE in January over financial problems

Olmo was Barcelona's marquee signing in the summer as they failed to entice Nico Williams to leave Athletic Club. However, the Blaugrana's ongoing financial issues have stressed them to the point of potentially being unable to register the 26-year-old to their La Liga squad for the second half of the season.

Barcelona are attempting to find a solution to the issue or make sales, so that Olmo does not leave the club on a free transfer in January. The Spaniard reportedly wants to stay at the club this season but will be eager to avoid being left in no man's land, with his entourage likely reaching out to several clubs.

As per the Daily Mail, Olmo's agent Andy Bara is currently in Manchester amid potential links with Manchester City. However, the agent confirmed that he is in Manchester on holiday, with a trip to the Etihad Stadium to watch City's draw against Everton planned.

The Spaniard started the season off with a bang for Barcelona, but injuries and an overall lack of fitness have resulted in Fermin Lopez becoming Hansi Flick's preferred option. Regardless, the German coach will be keen to avoid losing the midfielder this January and neither will the Barcelona top brass.
