Cristiano Ronaldo in Hong Kong?! Al-Nassr star set to feature in Super Cup tournament if football icon extends stay with Saudi side

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), through its exclusive commercial partner SMC Group, has signed an agreement with Hong Kong-based SUM KM Sport to stage the 2025 Saudi Super Cup in the bustling Asian metropolis. Scheduled between August 19 and 23, the tournament will take place at the iconic Hong Kong Stadium, which boasts a capacity of 40,000.

Four Saudi clubs - Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Qadisiyah - are set to compete for the trophy, marking a new chapter in the tournament's international journey. By taking the Super Cup outside of Saudi Arabia, the organizers aim to build and deepen global ties that align with the nation’s grand ambitions under Vision 2030.

Ibrahim Al-Qassim, Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation, highlighted the significance of this expansion in a statement, which read: “This represents a qualitative shift for the tournament, which has achieved remarkable success in its previous editions, making it one of the most prominent local competitions attracting interest for hosting."

Ronaldo is reportedly preparing to sign a contract extension with Al-Nassr, keeping him at the club until at least the 2026 World Cup. His hunger for more milestones, including the highly ambitious goal of scoring 1,000 career goals, suggests he is far from done. If he does put pen to paper on new terms, Ronaldo will be one of the headline names to appear at the international edition of the Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong.
